Great “Sauce Katsudon” of Yoroppaken -The staple of Fukui Donburi-

Speaking of Sauce Katsudon, there is no one who doesn’t knows it in Fukui.

It means,  it’s really famous & popular so if you visit Fukui, you can’t miss it.

 

Yoroppaken is the most famous and the oldest sauce katsudon restaurant that opened in 1913; more than 100 years ago!!

Nowadays, they have  19 branches all over the Fukui prefecture.

The main restaurant is located in Katamachi.

15 minutes by foot from JR Fukui station.

 Open : 11:00a.m. – 08:00p.m.

 Close : every Tuesday

 

Sauce Katsudon is named after “Tonkatsu (pork cutlet) ” and “Donburi (rice bowl dish)”.

Major Katsudon in Japan  is served with egg and sauteed onions, but Sauce Katsudon in Fukui is different from it.

The point is sauce. It’s soaked in the special sauce. Everyone is addicted to the secret Worcestireshire sauce.♡

Also, you can enjoy nice crispy and chewy texture. You must be fully satisfied both taste & portion.

“Katsudon Teisyoku”  served with miso soup, salad, and other small dishes. (1,080 yen)

 

In this restaurant, they serve various dishes aside from Katsudon.
